4. Children's Privacy

SparkBite is designed for children aged 5–10, used under direct parental supervision. A parent or legal guardian must create and manage all child profiles. By creating a child profile, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child.

SparkBite does not collect personal information directly from children. Child profiles store only a display name, age, avatar, and learning progress — all created and managed by the parent.

No advertising is shown to children. Child learning data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for commercial profiling. SparkBite is designed for children aged 5–10. Child profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian, and SparkBite is intended to use privacy-protective defaults.

4a. Operational Logs and Tracking

SparkBite does not load Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site behavioural tracking in the child experience. We do not use child learning activity for advertising or commercial profiling.

The service may create limited operational records needed to protect accounts, diagnose errors, keep the service reliable, reconcile payments, and enforce subscription access. These records are used for operating and securing SparkBite rather than for advertising profiles.

5. Subscription and Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers. SparkBite does not store full card information or payment details.

6. Data Sharing

SparkBite does not sell personal data. Information may be shared with trusted providers only where necessary for app operation, hosting, security, support, and billing.

7. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure.

8. Data Retention

Data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, and support users.

9. Your Rights

Parents or guardians may request access, correction, or deletion of their data and child profile data by emailing hello@sparkbite.app. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your data in accordance with UK data protection law.
